Naval Wedding: Katie and Will: St. Mark Church and The Elkridge Furnace Inn

 

Katie and Will’s summer Naval wedding at St. Mark Church in Catonsville and reception at The Elkridge Furnace Inn is one that will leave memories in my mind for the rest of my wedding photographer career!  Katie, Will, and both of their families were so sweet and such a joy to be around for their big day!

Katie and Will met back in 2013 but like most friends who later turn to couple, it took a few years for their feelings towards each other to really show.  It wasn’t until a few years later when Will was leaving for Officer’s boot camp for the Navy when he decided it was his last chance to tell her how he felt.   “Well, it worked because we started dating a month later!”  Katie said.

Their proposal included one of Katie’s favorite places- Annapolis.  Shortly after Katie started a new job as a special education teacher, Will had planned a day trip around Annapolis.  Once they got right down by the water, Will proposed! (And she obviously said yes!)

I love me some outdoor ceremony locations but this church was a close comparison to the outdoors! The light colored walls must have been designed especially for photographers!  The stained glass was just jaw dropping (you’ll see one of my favorite church photos with the beautiful stained glass below!) and the balcony made for a perfect view of the ceremony!

The outdoor area of Elkrdige Furnace Inn is so beautiful!  I probably could have just gone around the property and photographed all of the flowers and landscaping.  The outdoor tent area perfectly displayed all of the light blue, yellow, and gold décor.

I could go on and on about my favorite parts of this day especially all of the Navy traditions!  From the Saber Arch to cutting the cake with a sword, this day was filled with so many unique aspects!

Katie, Will, Families, and vendors—Thank you for an amazing day!  You all were a delight to spend the day with!  Katie and Will, congratulations on your marriage and I wish you all the best!  Safe travels to Charleston!  Thank you for your service, Will!!
