There has been a countdown in my mind for Jamie’s big day at Barn Swallow Farm ever since the bride’s sister called me to ask if I would be interested in photographing her sisters wedding. You betcha I was! Jamie and JP’s engagement session was the perfect start to learning all about their love story. Even better, we got to spend time together with their cute pup before their big day! (You can take a look at their engagement session by clicking here)
Because this summer seems to have a tendency of raining every single weekend, I was a little nervous glancing at the weather the days prior to their wedding. Of course, it looked like it was going to thunderstorm all day. However, the day was filled with sunshine from the second I woke up! Maybe a little too much sunshine. Y’all it was hot. Like chug a water bottle every two minutes so you don’t melt away kind of hot. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop anyone from having the time of their lives at this incredible wedding and gorgeous venue.
Barn Swallow Farm had so many stunning aspects. From the red barn with picturesque windows, to the indoor décor of lights and drapery that looks straight out of a fairytale, to the simple yet elegant ceremony site that has the prettiest little creek flowing in the background. Also, the lush greenery, tall grass, and open fields made for the perfect backdrop for couple images.
In addition to the gorgeous scenery, Jamie and JP’s wedding had so many special and heartfelt details. Not to mention you could feel the love in the air from their family and guests between the hugging and smiling all day long. First, the couple started out their day with a very sweet first look. Then, they read such loving and thoughtful hand-written vows after their first look. Above all, I think my favorite element of their wedding day was having the bride’s 94-year-old Grandmother as the flower girl. My heart!!! Seeing the Grandmother toss flowers from side to side as she is being escorted down the aisle was such a touching moment. Almost every guest had tears in their eyes, if I saw correctly through my own tear-filled eyes!
It was so joyous to spend the day with this sweet family and get to witness and photograph all they love they have for each other. Jamie and JP, Families, and the Barn Swallow Farm staff- this day was perfect and I am so happy and honored I could capture the love of this sweet couple! Congratulations!
