This rustic, DIY, Sentimental, Spring, Southern Maryland Wedding at the Belmont Farm is one to get all your emotions going.
I think I need to start by saying “Warning: You will probably need tissues because you might cry.” So there’s your warning!
As I went through hundreds of images during the culling and editing process, it heartened me to relive this day again. Melissa and Matt’s Southern Maryland Wedding was an absolute perfect way to kick off my Spring wedding season. I remember watching the weather leading up to that late April day. April was still in that phase of trying to leave winter behind and getting teases of warm Spring weather. Well, the day and weather turned out PERFECT. Blue skies, the most comfortable temperature with a slight breeze, that turned out to be much needed as it warmed up throughout the day.
The tears weren’t waiting for the ceremony, they showed up right at the start of the day! While photographing details and the girls getting ready, the bride’s mom couldn’t help but to shed a tear or two as she watched her daughter get her hair and makeup done. The bride’s sister and maid of honor weren’t far behind as soon as Melissa stepped out with her stunning dress.
After the sweetest first look with her soon-to-be husband, it was time for Melissa’s first look with her dad.
YOU GUYS. GRAB THE TISSUES.
I can’t even put into words how sweet and emotional this first look was. What an amazing moment to capture for the bonded dad and daughter duo! Make sure to keep an eye out towards the end of the post as you’ll see Melissa had a special surprise Mother/Daughter dance for her Mom, too!!
From the beginning of the day photographing details, like a hand-made bouquet from the Maid of Honor (she did an amazing job, y’all!) that had a piece of jewelry from the bride’s grandmother on it, to the funny jokes made during the ceremony and speeches, to the incredible band, to the wedding cake (again, made by the superstar MOH) with a little surprise for the bride and groom on the back. This Southern Maryland Wedding will for sure be a day I remember for a long time. Melissa, Matt, Families, and The Belmont Farm Staff: thank you for being absolutely wonderful and so amazing to work with!
